Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
The Grandview CICU is a 24-bed unit caring for high acuity cardiac patients suffering with both medical and surgical diagnoses. The nurses of the Grandview CICU care for post-coronary artery bypass graft patients, as well as patients receiving ECMO therapy, therapeutic hypothermia and immediate post-STEMI.
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
The Grandview MICU houses 16 beds. Nurses on this unit provide care for the complex medical patient. The MICU care teams is exposed to a wide variety of diverse and complex diagnoses. Focused treatments include ventilator management, continuous renal replacement therapy, etc.
Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU)
The staff of the 16-bed neuro ICU specializes in the care of patients undergoing critical neurologic interventions. Nurses on this unit oversee the care of such treatment modalities as ventriculostomy, craniotomy, TPA administration and continuous EEG.
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
The SICU features 16 beds to care for the post-surgical patient requiring intensive care. Commonly this includes patients who have had general, abdominal, trauma-related or orthopedic surgery. These nurses are very proficient in providing care for the high acuity surgical patient including ventilator management and various bedside procedures. These nurses works closely with physicians in the in-house surgical residency program.
