Grandview Medical Center Announces Alignment with Local Cardiology Group
10/13/2015
Alabama Cardiovascular Group, PC (ACG), and Grandview Medical Center have signed a definitive agreement to align effective October 19, 2015. The intent is for Alabama Cardiovascular Group to operate in alignment with Grandview Medical Group, the affiliated physician practice group of Grandview Health.
“Our history of service is built on the expertise and commitment of our medical staff, the numerous specialties, the depth of the programs we offer, our commitment to maintaining advanced technologies, and the constant dedication of our team of healthcare and support professionals,” said Keith Granger, President and CEO of Grandview Medical Center. “We share a common goal with the physicians and staff of ACG and that is to provide excellent patient care and to continue our pursuit of being the best provider of cardiology services in the region.”
ACG is comprised of 14 cardiologists with two primary locations in the Birmingham area - at St. Vincent’s Birmingham and St. Vincent’s East - and six satellite offices. ACG has a robust practice and will provide general cardiology, structural and interventional cardiology, as well as advanced arrhythmia management and electrophysiology services. The group will expand to occupy a new 15,000 square foot office in the Grandview Physicians Plaza, located on the Grandview Health campus, in late October. ACG will also continue to provide services in areas previously served throughout the region and also plans to expand services to new locations over the next 12 months.
“Alabama Cardiovascular Group has grown and expanded services over the past few decades and our alignment with Grandview will allow us to continue the commitment and service that our patients deserve and expect,” said Joaquin Arciniegas, MD, senior partner with ACG. “This is a mutual partnership with Grandview that will allow us to expand our services throughout the local and state markets and on a regional level. It also is an opportunity for us to have access to the latest technology in cardiovascular care within a facility that is patient-centered. Our ultimate goal is to continue to build a strong heart program for all patients.”
“Whether it is cardiac rhythm, structural heart, or interventional work – Alabama Cardiovascular Group does it all. They are recognized throughout the state for their expertise in cardiac care. Combine their level of physician expertise with one of the most technologically advanced cardiac facilities in the country and you have a strong clinical service line,” says Drew Mason, Chief Operating Officer for Grandview Medical Center.
Grandview Medical Center and Alabama Cardiovascular Group share a strong tradition of clinical excellence and patient care. As the hospital makes final preparations for its opening on October 10, 2015, it is committed to continuing to be a leader in cardiac services.
