Missing Types - Urgent Need for All Blood Types!

BIRMINGHAM, AL (July 2, 2019) ---- Missing Types often go unnoticed until someone’s life depends on them. Imagine if someone you love needed a blood type that was missing from hospital shelves. Right now, the American Red Cross has an urgent need for all blood types. Donors are urged to give now to ensure blood is available for patients facing trauma and other life-threatening situations.

On Wednesday, July 17, Grandview Medical Center and the American Red Cross are hosting a blood drive from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, in the hospital’s conference center located off the first floor lobby. This blood drive is open to the public.

All donors will receive their choice of a movie ticket or Grandview Cafe meal card. Donors will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $50 Jim & Nick’s gift card or a $25 Top Golf gift card.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted. To schedule an appointment, go to www.redcrossblood.org and enter keyword GRANDVIEW or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Please bring a photo ID or American Red Cross donor card with you. Free parking in the hospital parking deck will be available. Donors can bring their parking ticket with them for validation.

Grandview Medical Center is located on Highway 280 at 3690 Grandview Parkway, just east of The Summit on Highway 280.
