10/28/2020
People who have a specific type of atrial fibrillation (AFib) may want to learn more about a new one-time procedure that can reduce risk of stroke and eliminate the need for blood thinners at one of the free seminars being held at Northwest Medical Center – Bentonville on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 12 Noon or Thursday, Dec. 3, at 12 Noon.
The seminar features interventional cardiologist Dr. Maria Baldasare, who will discuss the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation as well as a new one-time procedure for non-valvular AFib.
The seminar is being provided in a live, socially distanced group setting, as well as on a virtual platform. A link and instructions for the virtual class will be provided upon registration.
To register, call (479) 757-LIFE (5433) or email CommunityRelations@nw-health.com.
In practice since 2016, Maria Baldasare, M.D., FACC, comes to Northwest Arkansas from Mowery Clinic, LLC, in Salina, Kan. Her interests include high risk percutaneous coronary intervention (CHIP), left atrial appendage closure, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and women’s health.
According to the CDC, atrial fibrillation is the most common heart rhythm abnormality in the U.S., impacting nearly one in 10 people older than 65. Although not usually life-threatening by itself, it can lead to other serious problems such as stroke.
