McGowan Named Executive Director of Nursing at Willow Creek Women’s Hospital

JOHNSON – Willow Creek Women’s Hospital (WCWH) recently named David McGowan, MBA-HM, BSN, RN, NE-BC, as the facility’s executive director of nursing.
“David brings extensive healthcare experience to our team in addition to a strong focus on creating an exceptional experience for our patients,” said WCWH Chief Executive Officer Juli McWhorter. “Our team is excited to welcome David in this leadership role and we’d like to welcome him and his family to the Northwest Arkansas community.”
Before joining WCWH, McGowan led a 20-bed oncology department, a 14-bed inpatient rehabilitation department and a dialysis department at Baylor Scott and White in Grapevine, Texas.
“I am passionate about providing a safe and joy filled environment for my team so that they can provide the best care possible to our patients,” McGowan said. “Willow Creek has a very specialized patient population and my goal is to not only have Willow Creek be the best place to receive this specialized care but also to be the best place to provide that care.”
McGowan has 17 years of healthcare nursing experience and has served in multiple leadership roles in his career. He earned his bachelor of science in nursing degree (BSN) from The University of Oklahoma and his master of business administration in healthcare management (MBA-HM) from Western Governors University. McGowan also is a nurse executive board certified registered nurse (NE-BC).
Originally from Ireland, McGowan moved to the United States in 1994. He is married and has two children with his wife of 15 years. In his free time, McGowan enjoys barbecuing, biking and spending time with his family.
