Adult Inpatient Care
The Behavioral Medicine Unit at Grandview Medical Center is comprised of two, secure inpatient psychiatric units for the treatment of adults experiencing acute behavioral health treatment needs. We offer a continuum of inpatient care for adult patients based on patient acuity - a 22-bed intensive psychiatric care unit for patients with highly complex concerns, and an 18-bed intermediate care unit for patients with less acute needs. Since we are located at a fully-functioning medical facility, patients also have access to consultation by other medical specialists for non-psychiatric medical needs.
The Behavioral Medicine Unit at Grandview Medical Center provides care with a treatment team focus. The treatment team consists of the attending psychiatrists, staff nurses, technicians, professional therapists and counselors, and other consultants deemed necessary by the treatment team. All these professionals work together to provide an environment where the patient can best work on his/her particular problem areas.
The inpatient treatment team works closely with outpatient behavioral health services, the local mental health center, private psychiatrists/therapists and other treatment resources to ensure patients have access to community-based care after they leave the hospital.
