Being told you have breast cancer can be frightening and overwhelming. The breast cancer nurse navigator is here to help ease the anxiety and worry that comes with diagnosis, and is by your side each step of the way.
At Willow Creek Women’s Hospital, the breast cancer nurse navigator is a registered nurse, provided to you at no cost. She provides education on diagnosis and treatment options, helps streamline medical care and offers emotional support for you and your family from diagnosis to survivorship.
Your navigator has access to resources to help decrease barriers and help you receive quality, timely treatment.
Your breast cancer nurse navigator can:
- Help you learn about your diagnosis, treatment options and medications
- Help you navigate the healthcare system
- Help you organize your health history and medication list
- Attend key appointments
- Help reduce barriers to care
- Help coordinate appointments
- Be an easily accessible source for answers to your questions
